Painted as part of the Hobbs first annual mural festival this piece titled “Thunderbird” draws inspiration from the powerful figure in Southwestern and Indigenous mythology — a symbol of strength, protection, and transformation. The eagle rises from a storm of fire and light — more than a bird, it’s the spirit and story of power and rebirth.
This mural is a tribute to the resilience and beauty of this region and to the people of Hobbs who continue to bring creativity and culture into their community and the transformation of downtown.
Big thanks to the Downtown Hobbs Improvement Association and everyone who helped bring this to life. It felt so good to return to Hobbs and add another piece to the city’s growing mural culture.
